Economy delivery to the UK

All the delivery services you can book through Parcel Monkey are at a discounted rate, but if you're really on a budget, there are a few services you should look out for in your quote results: 

  • Tracked mail -  If your shipment is not time-sensitive you can make big savings by booking one of our tracked mail services with EMS or TrakPak. These services have a longer delivery time and use the local postal system in the destination country to make the final delivery. You'll still get basic parcel tracking notifications.   
  • Parcel Monkey branded services - These services are operated by reputable world-renowned carriers such as FedEx and UPS, enabling you to book a premium delivery service at a fraction of the cost. The majority of our Parcel Monkey services are full tracked too! 
  • Drop off services - Generally, your quote results will show a variety of Pick Up and Drop Off services to choose from. Drop off services are cheaper and there are loads of local drop-off points to choose from so you can make an extra saving by simply dropping off your parcel while you're out. 

Are your delivery services suitable for eBay and eCommerce?

Yes, they are! Our services are great for both eBay and general eCommerce shipping. 

We offer a range of tracked express and economy shipping solutions which can be used to transport goods of all shapes and sizes. Just make sure you check out prohibited items list before you ship. This highlights items which are not suitable for transport through our courier partner networks.

Customs Information

When you ship to the UK it's likely you will need to complete a customs declaration form and your goods may incur UK import tax and customs duties. 

Please note that the United Kingdom is no longer part of the European Union and from January 1st 2021, if you're shipping from a country within the EU you will need to provide a customs declaration when you send parcels to the UK. You will also need to provide a commodity code/HS code for each item being shipped. You can find commodity codes on the UK Government website

If you’ve never completed a customs declaration before, don’t worry, when you book a parcel delivery service with Parcel Monkey, this is all taken care of during the booking process. We’ll ask you the relevant questions and provide you with the completed customs document to print and attach to your package.

What cannot be sent to the UK? 

Some items prohibited from import to the UK include (but are not limited to):

  • Illegal drugs

  • Offensive weapons, for example, flick knives

  • Self-defence sprays, for example, pepper spray and CS gas

  • Endangered animal and plant species

  • Rough diamonds

  • Pirate copies of music or movies

  • Indecent and obscene materials

Please also check our prohibited items list which has been provided by our courier partners. This includes items such as hazardous materials and substances, ammunition, batteries, aerosols, electronic cigarettes and perishable goods.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do you offer door to door delivery?

    The Parcel Monkey marketplace uses a shipping calculator to find the best prices for shipping your items door to door via a range of different couriers. 

    With full tracking on almost all of our delivery services, you can follow your package from the moment it leaves you until it arrives with the recipient. We always advise providing the contact number of the recipient so that if needed, the courier can contact them to resolve any issues with the delivery.

    Some of our courier services are delivered to a local Post Office, where the recipient will need to collect the package from such as with DHL eCommerce to some remote areas so it is essential to provide a working contact number. Items shipped with Parcel Monkey are also done so DDU, so it might be that Customs need to collect payment from the recipient before delivery. We offer Customs Advice to help with the completion of any Customs Documents.

  • Can I add protection cover to my order?

    When you place an order via the Parcel Monkey marketplace, during the booking process you can add protection cover to your item. As long as your item is not prohibited, has been packaged properly and you follow our Claims Procedure, you will be protected should your item be lost or damaged. 

    Some of our services offer no protection cover, but others do and some even offer free cover up to a certain value. You can view this information when you get a price via our shipping calculator. 

    Please ensure that the item is not on the prohibited items list as this will make it void.

    It is also vital to remember your package is going to be sent with global carriers, likely to be handled in various customs and airport departments so be sure to package the item correctly so it is well protected and cannot move around in the box.

  • How long will it take for my package to be delivered?

    Before you choose how to send your package, consider how quickly you need it to arrive. Transit times depend on two key factors- the shipping destination and the courier service you choose from the Parcel Monkey marketplace. 

    When choosing a courier from our marketplace, we will display an estimated delivery time, provided by the couriers themselves as they handle the goods.

    You can see how long it will take to arrive with the receiver and we advise that you share this tracking with the recipient so they can see when it is set to arrive. Always provide the recipient contact number when you book in case the delivery courier needs to contact them. 

    You can choose slower economy services such as DHL eCommerce if looking to save on the cost, or you can choose a speedy Express service that gets the package delivered more quickly like our 2-5 day International Drop Off service provided by FedEx, also available as a Pickup.
